Orthodontics For Everyone
At Lo Elliott Orthodontics, we believe orthodontics is for everyone, regardless of age. We offer treatment tailored to the needs of children, teens, and adults, and accessible payment plans that can fit almost any budget.
Early Assessments for Children
One of the best ways to ensure healthy oral development in children is with an early orthodontic evaluation. This allows your orthodontist to identify and monitor emerging tooth and jaw issues to determine the best time to begin treatment.
Orthodontics for Oral Health
Orthodontic treatment is known for creating beautiful smiles. But orthodontics is about so much more than aesthetics. It's about helping patients establish good oral health that improves their day-to-day lives.
Better Oral Function
By improving the alignment of the teeth and jaws, biting, chewing, speaking and overall function are also improved. Problems with these basic functions of the mouth and jaw can be debilitating for many people, and we are proud to help our patients overcome them.
Better Oral Hygiene
With straight teeth, it’s much easier to access all the spaces between your teeth with your toothbrush and floss than it is with overcrowded or misaligned teeth.
For many of our patients, orthodontic treatment can make a significant difference when it comes to avoiding serious oral health problems, including tooth decay and gum disease.
Long-Term Damage Prevention
When teeth are misaligned, they move against each other in uneven patterns during talking and chewing, often leading to excessive wear and tear over time. By straightening the teeth and correcting jaw misalignment, damage to the teeth can be minimized, reducing the need for restorative dental treatments in the future.
Keeping Patients Informed
We believe that patients are more likely to achieve optimal results from their treatment when they are well-informed. That's why our team continuously strives for excellence in patient communication and customer service.
We're always available to answer questions, and we ensure our patients understand each segment of their treatment plans as they continue along their orthodontic journey with us.
Let's get communication off to a great start with some answers to a few of the questions we are most frequently asked about orthodontics in general.
-
What are the benefits of orthodontics?
Orthodontic treatments are designed to align the teeth, lips, and jaws, which can help to improve the appearance of the smile. However, appearance is only part of the story. Orthodontic treatment also has a number of positive health implications.
This is true for several reasons. First, misaligned teeth are simply more difficult to clean than straight, even teeth. This means that people with misalignments are more prone to tooth decay and gum disease. Additionally, misalignments of the teeth and jaws can cause difficulties with chewing, leading to digestive issues. These misalignments can also result in chronic neck and facial pain, as well as wear and tear on the teeth.
By improving tooth and jaw alignment, orthodontic treatment can help resolve all of these issues.
-
What is an orthodontist?
An orthodontist is a dentist who has continued their training in order to gain in-depth knowledge of early jaw development and the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of tooth and jaw misalignments.
Dentists must complete an additional three years of university to earn this specialty designation.
-
At what age should someone seek orthodontic treatment?
It is typically recommended that children visit the orthodontist for the first time by the age of 7. An early evaluation gives us an opportunity to identify and carefully monitor emerging, orthodontic issues.
Of course, any time you are concerned about your teen's smile it's a good idea to see an orthodontist for an evaluation. Treatment in the teen years can help to create a healthy, beautiful smile for life.
When it comes to adults, there is no upper age limit for orthodontic treatment. As long as their teeth and gums are healthy, adults in their 30s, 40s, and beyond can benefit from orthodontics too!
-
How can I tell if I need orthodontic treatment?
Seeing an orthodontist for an assessment is the best way to determine whether you are a good candidate for orthodontic treatment. You can request an appointment with us at any time (no referral needed!).
That being said, some signs that you should book a consultation include:
- Visibly misaligned teeth or bite
- Pain or discomfort when chewing
- Difficulty chewing or speaking
- Chronic facial or jaw pain
- Difficulty brushing and flossing

What are my orthodontic treatment options at Lo Elliott Orthodontics?
At Lo Elliott Orthodontics, we offer a range of braces styles and clear aligners. Both treatment modalities can be customized for our patients' specific needs.
For children, early assessment and monitoring may be followed by later treatment with braces or clear aligners in the teen years.

How much does orthodontic treatment with braces or clear aligners cost?
Orthodontic treatment costs vary depending on a number of factors, including the severity and complexity of your orthodontic issue, the amount of time it takes to correct it, and the type of treatment you choose.
Our team will work with you to develop a treatment plan that takes your budget into consideration. We're also happy to help you with submitting insurance claims and to work with you on a financing plan to help take some of the stress out of paying for treatment.
